Garden Blogger’s Bloom Day: Asiatic Lilies

I am currently away from my garden so I thought I would share some Asiatic lilies from my mother-in-law’s garden. The blooms are spectacular this year! The lilies are mixed together with a variety of other plants in a raised bed garden made from local stone. Enjoy the blooms!

  1. Happy Fathers Day Dave.
Spent lots of time with those beautiful girls today….

The Saint gave me some dwarf lilies this year. They are my first ever and may lead to more in the future.

Hope you are not too sore from all the tree work….

  2. Thank you for sharing those lovely lilies – ours are not yet blooming, and it was so nice to see the ones you posted. They are spectacular.

  3. I only have one little clump of asiatic lilies. Now I see these and want some more.

Thanks for joining in for bloom day!

  4. Thanks for the Father’s Day wishes! We had a good day. Went to eat at Olive Garden, not a bad restaurant. I can talk about my present now that I received early…hmm I’ll tell you tomorrow maybe.

    Cindy,

The deer used to eat our things but a new house went up on the other side of the woods and neighbors moved in with a dog. That seems to keep the deer away. I kind of enjoyed seeing them every now and then. I wish they would have gotten rid of the rabbits!

    Nan,

Thanks but I can’t take the credit for the blooms, only the pictures. I pollinated a few while I was there so I’ll see if I can get a few to come up from seed.

    Carol,

I enjoy participating in GBBD, thanks for hosting it! I’ll have to get a clump or two myself!

  5. Hi Dave, what a good variety of lilies your inlaws have. They are loaded with flowers, any special secret fertilizing? The gaillardia is a great companion for them too. Hope you had a happy father’s day.
