  1. I traded for most of my seeds in the fall and early winter. I bought a few packs here and there from the box stores. I've started sowing seeds using the wintersowing method. I'm trying to decide where to plant the 23 varieties of tomatoes I have. I've been doing some weeding here and there in the perennial beds. The hoophouse is up and seeds in there have started to germinate. I've got leaves that need to be pulled back and mulched, but it's still a little too early for that. My plans were laid in the fall with new beds created in the backyard, some amendments tossed out during the coldest spell. Direct sown poppies and larkspur have been thrown all over the yard. Daffs and muscari bulbs were planted. Now, it's just a waiting game until the weather takes a turn for the better and the soggy soil dries out a bit. This is the part I dread. I'm not good at waiting.

    You're way ahead of me! By the time I was done planting last year I probably had about that many tomato plants. Some were volunteers though. Cherry tomatoes that decided they would dominate the garden. I'm with you on the weather and the waiting. We haven't had very many nice days lately, surely we're due!

  4. Hi Dave, I've just put 6 more mini-greenhouses. Yes, it's snowing here again today… but that's okay. Those little seeds are out there being striated and before long, they'll be growing! 🙂
