Gumdrop the Snowman and Other Snow Fun

Though I have not told her, I have officially named my wife’s snowman Gumdrop. You will see why when you look at the picture! The snow was dry and hard to pack. At least it was for a while, later in the day it melted some and snowmen of various shapes and sizes appeared through out the land as if they were heralding the coming of Frosty the Snowman himself on TV last night. So without further adieu here’s Gumdrop!

Sledding was the other event of the morning. I pieced together a short slideshow of one sled ride. The Mother and Daughters Ride, enjoy!

Here’s one of me and the girls on the slopes. The “sled” was the top of a plastic storage container. Since we don’t get regular snow we don’t have a “real” sled. It may not be pretty but it was fun!

Check out tomorrow’s post for Seed Sundays!

  1. Racquel,

Since we don’t get snow too often we’ve just never bothered to get a sled. We may think about it now since this year and last we’ve been able to get out on the slope!

    Amy,

Sounds like you could be making a really big Gumdrop! That’s cold, very cold!

    Darla,

I’m glad you like Gumdrop! My wife thinks I’m making fun of it but it is kind of cute.

    Tina,

She’s growing fast. She started walking around her first Birthday which happened to be on Thanksgiving. Of course the coat makes her look a lot bigger!

    Gail,

It must have just missed you. We certainly have weird weather in TN!

    TC,

It’s a great hillside for sledding! Last year we didn’t have nearly as much length to the slope since I wasn’t entirely sure where the end of the property was. I talked to the neighbor and found I had more up on the slope than I thought so I carved into it with the mower. It worked out to be an extra 20 feet or so for winter fun!
