Over the last year I’ve been enthralled with heucheras. I see a new one and I have to add it to the garden! If you are looking for a versatile foliage perennial then definitely take a look at the heucheras (Coral Bells). There are many varieties so far I have at least 5 different kinds in my gardens. The last one I purchased was at the end of the fall season and was labeled ‘Dale’s Strain’. I bought two, one of which I divided into two, but unfortunately I’m not entirely sure that the label was the correct variety. I have no doubt that it is a Heuchera villosa of some kind but ‘Dale’s Strain’ seems to have more green in the foliage.
This to me looks much more like Heuchera villosa ‘Tiramisu’, which incidentally I like the sound (and taste) of much better! What do you think? About the plant, not Tiramisu!
More on Heuchera:
It’s beautiful no matter what the name. But it is nice to have things properly labeled.
Whatever its proper name, it’s beautiful. I posted a photo on my blog today of a new Heuchera — the colors are extraordinary! I don’t know how anyone could not love this. 🙂

I have such a hard time keeping heucheras looking good. It may be our alkaline water that makes them turn brown on the tips. I wish mine looked this good.
I’d rather talk of tiramisiu-a favored Italian dessert. No, just kidding. This heuchera is very pretty.
Sorry can’t help with the id, but the color is quite pretty. I really love the variety of color in Heucheras. Especially the burgundy colored ones.
Hi Dave,
I don’t know either, but I have a dozen H Villosa Autumn Bride and there are subtle difference among them
all. But all are lovely!

I think it is a stunning color.
Tina gave me my first Heucheras and it did great in my small planter by the grill. Think I will add more to it this year…. That is a pretty one you have there…
I’m not sure which one it is either, but I’ll warn you, heucheras are like potato chips…you can’t have just one….;-)
Beautiful heuchera. I have some in my garden in afternoon shade. Planted them just last yr.
It definitely is lovely – I’ve seen violet or purple foliage but never a lovely pink one like this – It’d definitely be welcome in my garden.
Lovely web page with beautiful images of coral bells. I love their delicate flowers which somehow give a flower bed a delicate touch…but these are certainly not delicate plants.
That one is really pretty. I haven’t seen that one anywhere. Unfortunately, they don’t do well in full sun, here in Central Texas. I have to put mine where they get some shade. I’ll have to look for that one, though.

Dave I have seen them change color as the season progresses. They can look very similar as a young plant It may do that yet. Thanks for the advice on the boiling water and weeds. Tomorrow looks like a good day to do it.
