I know those of you in Canada and the Northern U.S. see snow fairly regularly, but in Tennessee it doesn’t happen often. When it does it’s usually fairly substantial. In our area of Tennessee, which would be the Southern Middle region, we picked up 3-4 inches of the fluffy white stuff. For me it brings back memories of growing up in Western Pennsylvania. I remember the piles of snow plowed up so high that we could build snow forts out of them, sledding down the hills, and walking on water (OK it was ice but ice is frozen water!).
Snow in Tennessee usually happens in March, at least all the bigs one’s do. This might be the most snowfall we’ve had in the last couple years. Here are some early pictures of our snow day. There will be more to come. Please excuse me while I go build a snow man!

very nice. you have a beautiful home.
We’ve got snow in Indiana, too, and it has been several years since we’ve gotten this much this late in the winter. I am surprised that you usually get snow in March!

Snow for folks south of us and we’re getting hammered with wind and rain. The wind has been so strong here it sounds like our house is on a fast moving train. Whooooooooooooo
Dave,
It was lovely while it lasted wasn’t it. Hope you were able to sled or build snow people…it is almost entirely gone from my yard.
We have some pretty assertive blue jays over here…they were chomping away on the old cashews I threw out for the squirrels.

Beautiful pics. Love the house & snow. Reminds me of when I was little back in good ole Tn.
As a child growing up in TN back in the 60-70’s, I recall the big snowfalls happening right after Christmas vacation. That is what we called it back then. I think now the correct term is Winter holiday… One year we were out of school so long we had to go an extra hour each day and also a few Saturdays to make up for lost time. Was a joke as we did nothing on those days just sat in class and goofed off but we had to get in the hours in order to get the State moneys! Ah, the hours and hours we played in the snow were not on our minds while in school on Saturdays! LOL
