Muck Boots can be Great Gifts for Gardeners!

Muck Boots

A few months ago I was sent some Muck Boots from the Muck Boot company to try out. Disclaimer: They sent me the boots for free but everything I say in this post is my own opinion. Also I’ve used affiliate links in this post to Tractor Supply if you would like to find a pair of Muck Boots for yourself or as a gift for other gardeners.

I received a pair of Muck Boots (Men’s Chore Boots) several months ago and waited to write this review for a bit. In part it was my busy schedule but also because I wanted to give these boots a good test drive. Prior to receiving the boots I used a cheap pair of generic boots when I needed to run into the garden and I knew the grass would be wet. Those early mornings in the garden when the dew covers the grass can be some of the most enjoyable times to be in the garden. Not to mention the need to run out in the rain on occasion to harvest something from the garden for dinner. For some reason it’s usually cilantro.

Here is the exact pair of boots I received from Tractor Supply: Muck Boots Chore Mid.

How Do Muck Boots compare to Regular Rubber Boots?

The cheap boots do the job fine. They don’t have any major issues and have held up well enough for what they are. I don’t use them for long periods of time because I find that after a while they hurt my feet. My regular boots are much more comfortable but not water proof so the generic garden boots pick up the slack for the wet times of day.

When I compare the Muck Boots (aff) to the cheap boots there are some noticeable differences. The fit is better with the Muck Boots. They don’t feel loose and also feel more comfortable since they fit better. They also feel more sturdy. I can’t say for sure that they will last longer than the cheap boots but I suspect they will just due to the fact that these feel like boots meant to be boots, not just rubber forms that look like boots.

Muck Boots are waterproof and are rated to handle sub zero temperatures.

The traction is very good on the Muck Boots and I don’t slip in the garden when wearing them. They feel like boots I could wear to do any kind of garden chore and still be comfortable in. I’ve mostly worn them for gardening tasks like weeding but I could see where the boots would be excellent for completing chores around a farm with animals or other generally messy areas.

The Drawbacks for Muck Boots

Probably the biggest drawback with Muck Boots is the price, because they aren’t cheap! I think the price is due to the quality of the product though and may be well worth it in the long run. This pair of boots has become my go to pair when running around doing garden chores outside. They are easy to slip on, keep my feet dry, and are pretty comfortable.

The only other negative is that they can get hot in the sun. I chose the black colored boots but due to the nature of the materials used they are also air proof which means little to no air flow around your feet. If it’s hot and sunny in the garden I’ll still need to use my regular work boots but that would still be the case if I were using the cheap rubber boots I had previously.

These boots would make an excellent choice for any gardeners you might know, and maybe yourself as well! Check Muck Boots out at Tractor Supply Company (aff.)
