As you probably know every 15th of the Month is Bloom Day started and hosted by Carol at May Dreams Gardens and as you know it’s February. When you put the two events together you will find that I really don’t have much to show. Last year at this time the daffodils and several other plants had already begun blooming. This year I don’t even have the lawn loving weed henbit to fall back on. I do have a few small offerings of indoor blooms that I can share but most of the garden must be waiting patiently for March and warmer weather.
Hyacinth, Carnation, and Christmas Cactus The hyacinth was for my wife for Valentine’s Day and one carnation was given for each of the girls. The Christmas cactus decided that it was time to bloom again! Does that make it a Valentine’s cactus?
Dave, it sure is hard to remain enthusiastic with this dreadful winter we've had! The hyacinth really helps~~I try to have fresh flowers to keep my spirits up. gail Did you get ice? I went out to feed Priscilla and slipped everywhere.
I like your Valentine's cactus! Happy GBBD!
February is definitely a hard month for Bloom Day; thank goodness it's a short month! I'm sure your wife and daughters appreciated the lovely blooms for Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Cactus are good:) All are a bright spot of the garden-even inside.
Any flower this time of year is a worthy one I think. Happy Bloom Day. I hear spring is on the way.~~Dee
It's great to see *any* flowers, Dave, so you did a great public service with this post. Thanks for sharing!
Dave, your blooms are lovely…no matter how you got them;-)
Good Valentine/Bloom Day show. I had one forced white hyacinth and the others are in bud in the garden. The white just looks so elegant, doesn't it?
I'm working on 5 things. I'm easily distracted.
This time of year is hard for most people to find much blooming. That's what is so great about indoor blooms. I wish I could get my Christmas cactus to rebloom, remembering to water it might help.
Amazing . Nice photos , Wish you the best in your field ..!
