Being mid-November there isn’t much to show for blooms. We’ve had several light frosts and a couple hard freezes which for the most part silences the perennials and annuals that worked so hard for us during the growing season. But there is always something worth looking at in the garden!
Like these pansies in the front garden.
The salvia by the garden shed.
The yarrow (Achillea) by the patio which seems to always be in bloom.
The ‘Oranges and Lemons’ Gaillardia which surely won’t be blooming much longer! A little sad looking this morning don’t you think?

I went back and looked at what was blooming last year at this time and it’s amazing to see how consistent plants can be!

Things are slowing down some around here. The only difference in your post today and last years to me is, the photos from last year look brighter like maybe the weather was warmer….
Definitely slowing down! Last year was a bright and sunny day – not so today. Cloud, rain in the forecast, and abundant fog for this morning. I'm already missing warm weather…
Pansies are so reliable at this time of year, actually all year for that matter. They reseed and pop up in the most unlikely places, showing there happy little faces. Good photos too.
Pansies are certainly cheery little plants aren't they? I too like going back from one year to the next to see what was blooming– this is a great meme.
I love the Pansies! I'm always so glad to see their "faces" this time of year since they will bloom until spring. No frosts or freezes for us yet, just lots of rain.
Not much left in our gardens~Which is why I showed more of our golden autumn foliage! it's terribly chilly and damp out there~What a difference a year makes! gail
Nice to see some purple and pansies! Mine are long gone…
You're showing cute pansies, and we're battening down the hatches and preparing for what will be Winter Weather soon. 🙂
Beautiful photo of the salvia, and I also like how the silvery plant in the background of another photo shows up.
There's something a little mournful about the lone remaining blooms on plants that were flowering prolifically, isn't there! Pansies are wonderfully tough though.
