I’m a couple days late on my entry for the GROW project so here it is! The Italian Cameo basil is still going strong and is beginning to flower. It’s done well in a soil mix that I think is probably too compacted. I didn’t get a picture of it but it really doesn’t look much different than it did in last month’s GROW project update.
The ‘Yellow Splash’ marigold has changed some. More orange colors have developed in the center of the petals. I suspect this is due to an increased amount of light as the tomatoes that I planted it next to have lost many of their leaves. It’s that time of year when tomatoes look lanky, gangly, and generally pretty sorry. We’re still getting tomatoes so I’ll leave them alone until the frosts come along. I even sampled some Sungold tomatoes in the garden yesterday which were from Renee’s seeds like the Marigold and the basil.
I need to start the lettuce to get it ready for indoor vegetable growing!
