Ahh, watermelon! The pure and sweet taste of summer. What summer in the south would be complete without this large juicy fruit in its predominant role as the picnic desert of choice?
So here today I will show you the wonderful watermelon I have grown.
The vine rests in our raised bed vegetable garden.
In fact the watermelon vine is the only thing planted in that particular bed.
Are you prepared?
The size and form of this watermelon are astounding.
Are you sure you are prepared?
TA DA!
So small it fits easily into one hand! What, did you think it was going to be larger?
The cantaloupe vine has run out of its bed and into the watermelon bed so that might have reduced the size of our wonderful watermelon. We’ll try again for a good watermelon next year!
The build up was just TOO much for me! Ha!
The suspense almost killed me Dave, lol. Lovely little melon. 🙂
Very good Dave!
Thanks for the chuckle! So was it tasty?!? Did everyone get one bite – LOL!
Hahaha, that was too funny! I thought the pictures were missing, and that you were going to show us this huge melon, lol. It is an interesting shape. What does it look like inside and was it any good?
Ha, too funny Dave. Looks like one of my funny shaped cucumbers!
We haven’t eaten it yet. Hopefully there will be some flesh in it.
Hey don’t laugh. Those little ones can taste pretty good. I get all sizes when I plant. I just eat them all. I have no idea why one plant does well and one right beside it will have a baby. Just the way it is!
