Video UPDATE: Bradford Pear Tree
As I expected we now have a second Bradford Pear Tree boken. In fact it’s a rather dangerous situation due to heavy branch still attached to the tree. I’ve been working to get this tree cut down since this happened but take a look at why you shouldn’t plant one of these problem trees. In fact avoid ANY Callery Pear tree as they are all similar in composition.
Let’s review why you shouldn’t plant a Bradford Pear Tree:
- Weak Wood – They break often due to the “V” shaped branching pattern.
- They Smell Bad when in Bloom – think rotten meat!
- They are invasive!
